Anamanaguchi: Awesome Chiptune Music

placeholder

I had never heard of these guys until the official releases list for Record Store Day came out. I had been hoping that they were going to release some video game soundtracks on vinyl, and they did! Scott Pilgrim Vs The World: The Game Soundtrack. I actually managed to snag me a copy on RSD as well.

Waited in like 11 hours with Megan for this and a couple other releases. It was totally worth it.

I have never actually played the game, only the demo, but I’ve heard great things about it and plan on picking it up once I upgrade the hard drive on my PS3. Maybe it’ll be on sale this summer as well. But anyways, this soundtrack is awesome! If you’ve never played the game, you owe it to yourself to at least listen to his album. My favorite track is Another Winter. It’s just so fun and is reminiscent of the games we all grew up with.

On top of doing this awesome soundtrack, they also have a couple albums, only one of which I have listened to. Let me tell you though, they make their music sound and flow like a video game soundtrack. Endless Fantasy is awesome, and I plan on growing my vinyl collection  by adding it sometime this summer.

Look at how awesome that vinyl is!

Listen to the album below, then let me know in the comments if you’re planning on adding this music to your library as well.

Here’s two of their music videos as well, both from Endless Fantasy.

-Jarrod

Jarrod’s first console was a Playstation back in 1997 and has been gaming ever since. After years of being stupid and selling most of his games and consoles, he started game collecting in 2013. His main focus is the original Playstation but is interested in most consoles. Between gaming and his record collection it’s almost guaranteed that he’s going to be poor.
